HCCT has a long tradition of welcoming offers of help from volunteers. Volunteers work as an integral part of the team in an atmosphere of respect and equality, performing a range of duties within the drop in centre, the Refugee Project or Flexicare and across our organisation. Our volunteer work force is diverse in age, ethnicity and nationality, reflecting our service user groups.
Volunteers take on roles of responsibility, using their own talents and abilities and developming new skills and competencies.
We welcome applications to volunteer from everyone and are especially committed to working with people who have experienced mental ill health, substance misuse or homelessness themselves, or are ex-offenders.
We offer training and development opportunities to all our volunteers and time bankers and everyone giving their time receives time credits in return.
People volunteering at HCCT receive out of pocket expenses to cover travel.
